WorldService Project, formed in 2009, has laid down impressive live credentials at some of the country's top venues and festivals and was tipped as a group to watch in the August edition of Jazzwise. The group is centred around the compositional eccentricity of pianist Dave Morecroft, who delights in meddling with jazz in its many guises. With gutsy, energetic and emotionally driven music, the group draws from a wealth of musical experience in jazz, funk, improvisation, rock, punk and contemporary classical music. WSP stops off in York on a tour promoting WSP’s first album, Relentless.
WorldService Project gratefully acknowledges support from Jazz Services Ltd and Arts Council England.

2.00pm to 4.00pm

WSP will also run workshops during the day: Rhythm/Rhythm Section Interaction and Intense Improv. These sessions are aimed at players of any age who have some experience of improvisation. For information about the workshops please contact the Box Office or go to the YorkConcerts website
