Spend a beautiful summer’s day aboard the Scarborough Flyer. Steam out of Crewe to Wilmslow and Stockport. Pass through Stalybridge, with its famous Buffet Bar and climb up to Standedge Tunnel. Descend to Huddersfield, then follow the route of the old Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, to Wakefield Kirkgate. Continue through Castleford to York, where you may leave the train or continue Scarborough. Those passengers stopping at York can visit such sights as the Minster, The Shambles, the Jorvik Viking Centre.
