Sheffield’s newest open-air events space is taking on Shakespeare in a series of performances this summer.
GB Theatre Company are delighted to be performing William Shakespeare’s epic play The Tempest and the hilarious comedy The Taming of the Shrew this August at The Ampitheatre, Sheffield’s South Street Park.
The cast of outstanding professional actors are directed by Jenny Stephens (director of BBC Radio 4’s The Archers) and Jack Shepherd (of ITV’s Wycliffe fame).
These will be the first performances at the open-air Amphitheatre which overlooks Sheffield. The South Street Park Amphitheatre is a stunning theatrical location cut into the hill above Sheffield's train station.
The event promises to be a special summer event and guests are invited to pack a picnic and come along with family or a group of friends.
The GB Theatre Company is a British theatre company performing classic plays around the UK and overseas. They return to Sheffield following a series of performances in The Peace Gardens 2011.
