BUTCH (3 hour set)
King Tut & The Wookie
Filth are fully back at it again now the winter has rolled in, and have two stunning headliners - Butch as part of his world spanning, new album supporting ‘Eyes Wide Open' Album Tour, and Tim Green - to keep you on your toes at the Mint Club on November 13th.
Mainz-based German Turkish producer and DJ Bülent Gürler aka Butch has seen huge success with his sumptuous productions recently, particularly for his jacking house cut ‘No Worry’ which has rocked DJ sets the world over this summer and even won biggest tune of the year at the Ibiza DJ Awards. That record came on Cecile but Butch is also at home on uber cool imprints like Trapez, 8Bit and Remote Area – all leading tech house labels, for sure.
Leaving the flattering protection of his mayor label behind to spread his creative wings and fly around the world as free as a bird, the multi-facetted, Mainz-based producer has recently finished his second long player.
Going beyond the obviousness of pleasant sounds and diving into the small print of the album, you will encounter fascinatingly joyful details which turn the tight-knit sound carpet ride into a magic trip.. something also redolent of one of the man’s DJ sets.
Tim Green has gained plaudits from a huge and varied selection of stars like Ritchie Hawtin, Josh Wink, Tiefschwarz, Steve Lawler, MANDY and many more for his always killer house productions on labels like Sven’s Cocoon and Claude von Stroke’s Dirtybird.
Recent times have had him destroying dancefloors at some of the world’s best clubs such as Fabric, The End in LondonThe Custard Factory Birmingham, Circus in Liverpool, Watergate, Tresor & The Weekend Club in Berlin and so certainly knows how to control a floor and take you on a journey.
Residents Luke Pompey (now releasing on Cr2 and Subliminal Records, no less), King Tut & the Wookie (who between them have played Glasto, Creamfields and warm-up sets for the mighty Deadmau5 out in Mallorca) back up the main stars with more than enough skill to keep you dancing right until the wee hours.
Filth is by now a well established brand with many devoted followers packing out the Mint Club each week – but with their new musical direction and bookings as sharp as this, the new fans continue to pour in. Make sure you join them in the future night box that is Mint with its peerless light and LED installations and fine example of a Funktion ONE sound system.
Crisp and clean without being fussy and faddy, the club is the perfect accompaniment to one of the north of England’s finest promotions.
